BIO

Creative Director. Photographer. Artist.

Each story has its abstract nuances and, without words, it’s a visual artist’s language. Sakhon asks us through her work to notice the subtleties, to become curious about an image or space. Composing the scene. Playing with texture and contrasting colors. Observing the relationship between objects or people, this is her expertise. She orients herself to the subject, noticing how the light dances with its muse, seeing what others might have missed. Sakhon’s strength and passion is bringing the artistry of the now into focus.

“During every session, my desire is to capture a moment in time. The one that will wash you in a wave of nostalgia when you view it again in the future. Creating those moments for my clients is what motivates me as an artist.”

Sakhon has extensive experience, education and training in both Interior Design and Photography. She not only has degrees in both, but also has had over 10 years working in the industry. She has collaborated with major corporations such as Pottery Barn as well as small “Mom & Pop” shops. Sakhon has an affinity for supporting local entrepreneurs and business owners. Other photography projects include, The Napa Valley Film Festival, Bottle Rock Napa Valley, and California Museum. .

Currently, at her Napa Studio, Sakhon specializes in imaginative floral design, functional interior design, and facilitates creative workshops. Sakhon is a first generation American, a descendant from the vibrant artistic culture of Cambodia. Growing up in Chicago, bopping from Galleries to Museums in downtown, she became enthralled with all things art, working at the merchandise mart and immersing herself in the design world. Those early years led her to study language and culture in France, where she further developed her aesthetic sensibility.

She is worldly down to her roots and combining her life’s work with travel is what she calls “the perk of the gig”.
